Panettone Festivo 2025

Fico Masseria continues to bring the warmth and generosity of Italian celebration into its second festive season. For the 2025 Panettone, I was commissioned to develop a fresh expression of celebration through an original packaging design, drawing from the flavours, traditions, and spirit of Puglia.
Tiles have long adorned Italian homes, carrying stories through ornament and repetition. Titled Gestures of Grottaglie, the concept draws from the ceramic tile traditions of Grottaglie, a historic town in Puglia renowned for its artisanal craft. The packaging features a series of custom tile patterns developed from familiar symbols, including citrus trees, motifs derived from traditional Italian weaving, and the star of the Nativity.
Expressed through texture and light, these gestures surface quietly across the box as a contemporary reflection of tradition, bringing a delightful discovery experience that translates sight to touch and smell to taste.
Complementary to the guest experience was a collection of house-made recipes provided by the kitchen team at Fico to put a fresh spin on post-festive leftover panettone. From design to development, I created a seasonal microsite, acting as a “recipe book” which guests can access upon scanning the code on the box.
