In 2025, Park Hyatt Sydney marks its 35th anniversary at the edge of Sydney Harbour, a site shaped by layers of history, movement, and transformation. From its earliest significance to the Gadigal people to its evolution as a working harbour and cultural landmark, the waterfront has long carried stories that extend beyond any single chapter. This anniversary became an opportunity to reflect on that shared journey, situating the hotel’s own history within the broader narrative of place and time. Working closely with historical research and the hotel’s marketing team, the project sought to translate this into a considered storytelling experience.
At the centre of this is a commemorative publication designed as a light paperback. Structured as a 16-page booklet with two inserts, the book traces significant chapters of the harbour’s history, revisiting key periods through curated snapshots across the centuries. The publication is distrubuted to partners and placed throughout the hotel, inviting guests to engage with history during their stays.
This narrative extends into a dedicated microsite housed within the Park Hyatt Sydney Suites platform. Expanding on the publication, the site offers a deeper digital journey through the harbour’s past, launched alongside a wider digital campaign and social content developed by the hotel’s marketing team.
